Terms of Service
Effective April 18, 2026 · Last updated October 19, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PAWTAL application and related services (the "Services") provided by VetAILs ("PAWTAL", "we", "us", or "our"). The Services are the veterinary practice operating system: clinical records when a hospital uses PAWTAL as its system of record, and scheduling, communications, safety, training, and the other hospital operations around that record. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Accounts
PAWTAL is a multi-tenant platform provided to veterinary hospitals. The hospital provisions your user account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at support@pawtal.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, other user accounts, or third-party systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from any part of the Services, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. Employer Relationship
The Services are provided to veterinary clinics that subscribe to PAWTAL. Your employer controls your access to the Services and the operational data within its tenant. PAWTAL processes that data on the employer's behalf. Questions about specific operational data (schedules, role assignments, shifts) should be directed to your employer.
4. Privacy
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Security page, which describe how we collect, use, and protect personal information. By using the Services you acknowledge both.
5. Intellectual Property
The Services, including all software, designs, logos, text, and documentation, are the property of PAWTAL or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Services solely for your employer's internal business purposes.
6. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. PAWTAL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
PAWTAL is not a veterinary hospital. Nothing in the Services, including anything produced by AiVA, is a diagnosis, a treatment order, or a substitute for a veterinarian's judgment.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAWTAL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES.
8. Termination
Your employer may terminate your access to the Services at any time. We may also suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or otherwise misused the Services. Upon termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms will cease.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Program Description
The PAWTAL Employee Notifications program sends operational text messages to veterinary clinic employees who have explicitly opted in through the PAWTAL application. Messages may include:
- Notifications that a weekly schedule has been published.
- Shift reminders the evening before and one hour before a scheduled shift.
- Open-shift availability alerts when a manager posts an uncovered shift matching your role.
- Shift-change alerts when a shift on a published schedule is added, removed, or modified.
- Internal company announcements posted by your employer's management team.
Opt-In
To receive SMS messages from PAWTAL, an employee must (1) sign in to their PAWTAL account, (2) navigate to Settings → Notifications, (3) enter their mobile number in E.164 format, and (4) individually toggle on each SMS notification category they wish to receive. No SMS is sent until these steps are completed, and each category is independently consented to. See the full opt-in workflow at /sms-opt-in.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Please consult your mobile carrier plan for details on fees associated with sending or receiving text messages.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your schedule and the notification categories you have enabled. A typical employee receives between 1 and 5 messages per week.
